Facebook Reels Downloader features

Reels with sound

Public Facebook Reels save as MP4 with their original audio.

MP3 option

Want only the sound? An MP3 option appears in the same list.

Reel share links

Paste facebook.com/share/r links or reel links from the app.

Vertical, ready to watch

Reels keep their full-screen 9:16 shape on your phone.

No Facebook login

Public Reels work without an account.

Nothing kept

Temporary files are deleted after sending.

Facebook Reels are short, full-screen videos, often with music or a voice-over. Paste a public Reel's link above to save it as an MP4 with sound, or keep just the audio as an MP3.

How to download a Facebook Reel

  1. Open the Reel. Find it in the Reels tab, your feed or on a Page.
  2. Copy the link. Tap Share, then Copy link. Reel links usually look like facebook.com/share/r/… or facebook.com/reel/….
  3. Paste and save. Paste it above, press Download, then press Save on the file you want.

What you get

MP4 with sound

The Reel as Facebook makes it public, in its tall 9:16 shape, with the original audio. In our test, a 25-second Reel was about 19 MB.

MP3 audio

Just the sound, converted on our server. The same 25-second Reel made an MP3 of about 580 KB.

Facebook usually offers one ready-made video file for Reels, shown as MP4 · best available. That's the best version Facebook shares without a login.

Reels vs regular Facebook videos

Reels are vertical, short and made for phones. Regular videos can be any length and are often wide. SnapFrom handles both, but this page is focused on Reels. For longer or wide videos, the Facebook video downloader has tips for large files.

Because Reels are short, they're usually ready to download within a few seconds.

Is the Reel public?

Only public Reels can be saved. Most Reels are public by default, but not all:

  • Reels from public Pages and creators: work.
  • Reels shared with "Public": work.
  • Reels shared only with friends: can't be saved.
  • Reels inside private groups: can't be saved.

Not sure? Open the link in a private browser window. If it plays without asking you to log in, it's public.

Saving your own Reels

Made a Reel and lost the original? If it's public, paste its link here to get a copy with sound. It's a quick way to back up your best Reels or repost them on another app you use.

For a full archive of everything you've posted, Facebook's Download your information tool in Accounts Centre is more complete.

Where does the Reel go?

  • iPhone and iPad: the Files app, under Downloads. Open it, tap Share, then Save Video to add it to Photos.
  • Android: the Download folder. Your gallery shows it shortly after.
  • Computer: your downloads folder.

Reels keep their vertical shape, so they fill your phone screen when you play them.

On a computer, vertical videos show with black bars at the sides. That's normal. If you plan to edit the Reel, most video editors have a 9:16 project setting that matches it exactly.

Use Reels respectfully

Reels often contain licensed music and creators' own work. Saving one to watch later is common. Reposting someone else's Reel as your own, or using it in ads, isn't fair to the creator and may break copyright rules. Ask first, and credit them.

If something goes wrong

  • "Private or needs a login": the Reel isn't public.
  • "Can't be found": the Reel was removed, or the link is incomplete.
  • "Took too long": try again in a moment.
  • Save stopped working: Save buttons last 30 minutes. Paste the link again.
