Facebook is visualizing and mobile-focused. Facebook still dominates social media with nearly 3,05 billion monthly active users in 2023.
Your content may reach many people. Algorithm changes that encourage engagement and sharing boost this potential.
From feed to profile page, Facebook has many image and video types. Listed below.
Facebook profile picture size: 170 x 170 pixels (on most computers)
The size of a Facebook profile picture depends on the device being used to view it:
- Desktop: 170 pixels by 170 pixels
- Smartphone: 128 pixels by 128 pixels
- Most feature phones: 36 pixels by 36 pixels
Facebook profile pictures are cropped to a square. For profile pictures with text or a logo, a PNG file may produce better results
Facebook cover photo image size is 851 x 315 pixels (recommended)
The ideal size for a Facebook cover photo is 851 pixels wide by 315 pixels tall on desktop, and 640 pixels wide by 360 pixels tall on mobile. The minimum image size is 400 x 150 pixels, and the maximum file size is 100kb.
Sizes for Facebook timeline photos and posts
When uploaded, Facebook automatically resizes and formats photos for the 500-pixel timeline and 1.91:1 aspect ratio.
Remember these sizes to avoid pixelation and slow load times:

Facebook event cover photo image sizes: 1200 x 628 pixels (recommended)
The recommended size for a Facebook event cover photo is 1920 x 1005 pixels with a 16:9 aspect ratio. Facebook will scale down the photo to a minimum of 400 x 150 pixels, but for best results, Facebook recommends using the full recommended size.
Here are some tips for choosing the right size for your Facebook event cover photo:
- SizeThe right size photo will look good on all devices and ensure that important parts of your image are centered and not cropped.
- QualityA photo that’s too small will be stretched and look pixelated, which can make a bad first impression.
- FormatPhotos taken with phones are often in portrait orientation, which isn’t ideal for an event cover image. You can try merging multiple photos into a collage.

You can also use a video as your Facebook event cover photo. Videos should be between 30 seconds and 5 minutes long.
Facebook image dimensions for panorama or 360 photos
For Facebook, here’s how to handle panorama and 360 photos:
Panorama Photos:
- Aspect Ratio: Panorama images should have a wide aspect ratio to be effective. A common aspect ratio is 2:1 or wider.
- Minimum Width: There isn’t a strict minimum width, but a width of at least 1,080 pixels is recommended for quality.

- Minimum Dimensions: Facebook recommends a minimum resolution of 6,000 x 3,000 pixels to ensure high quality.
- File Size: The file size should be kept under 30 MB for faster loading and processing.

Facebook image sizes for Facebook Stories is 1080 x 1920 pixels
- Image width: Don’t choose an image with a width smaller than 500 pixels.
- Text: If your story has text, leave 14% (250 pixels) of the top and bottom text-free so that your profile photo and buttons don’t cover your call to action.
- File size: The maximum file size for a Facebook Story image is 30 MB.

Here are the recommended Snapchat image sizes for various content formats:
1. Snapchat Profile Picture size (Bitmoji or Snapcode)
The recommended size for a Snapchat profile picture is 320 x 320 pixels, with a maximum file size of 2 MB. The image will be cropped into a circle, so it’s important to place the most important information in the center.
Snapchat also has other image size guidelines for different types of content:
- Header image: The visible dimensions of a Snapchat header image are 375 x 258.
- Icon: Icons should be 320 x 320 pixels and saved as a PNG.
- Image and video ads: The recommended size for Snapchat image and video ads is 1080 x 1920 pixels.
- Story ads: Image story ads should be 360 x 600 pixels, and video story ads should be 1080 x 1920 pixels
